Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship: Day three digest

Jon Rahm surges into the lead, Tyrrell Hatton sparkles with his short irons and Adam Scott remains clean after 54 holes.

Everything you need to know on Moving Day from Yas Links.

Rahm roars ahead in Abu Dhabi

Jon Rahm enjoyed a brilliant burst of form after the turn to climb up to the top of the leaderboard on Saturday. Two birdies and a dropped shot was all he could muster on the front nine, but he went birdie-eagle-birdie to claim the outright lead. He added another at the 15th to reach 18 under, a mark nobody could match with playing partners Tyrrell Hatton and Francesco Laporta just one behind. Rahm said: "I was in a good position on every single hole with a chance for birdie. Fantastic round. Overall, obviously very good golf. It's been a good year so far, but to win again on the DP World Tour would be special. To add to the Rolex Series tally and make it six would be fantastic as well."

Hatton shines with his irons

Tyrell Hatton showed why he is one of the best ball-strikers in the world with this phenomenal approach from a difficult position at the third with arguably the shot of the day.

He also got off to a fast start with this dime on the opening hole.

And this gem at the sixth to rejoin the lead at 15 under.

Laporta chases the ace

Francesco Laporta has been brilliant in Yas Links and was inches from a hole-in-one at the par-three fourth.

Rory drives the green

Just pure Rory McIlroy magic at the 14th as he finds the green from the tee at the par-four 14th, two-putting for birdie to join Rahm at the summit. Simply sublime!

Scott stays clean

Adam Scott is one of two players yet to register a bogey after 54 in Abu Dhabi and is just three shots behind the leader.
