DP World Tour Championship - Moving Day digest

Everything you need to know from Saturday's play at the final Rolex Series event of the season.

Rory McIlroy rose to the top of the leaderboard on Moving Day but has a lot of quality players hoping to hunt him and fellow co-leader Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen down when the DP World Tour Championship and 2025 season conclude on Sunday.

Here is everything you need to know from Saturday's play at the final Rolex Series event of the season.

Dubai double in McIlroy's sights

McIlroy fired a superb 68 on day three to share the lead with Neergaard-Petersen ahead of the final round as he goes in search of a second successive Dubai double. The defending champion began the week with a healthy lead over nearest challengers Marco Penge and Tyrrell Hatton at the top of the Race to Dubai Rankings and in pole position to win a seventh Harry Vardon Trophy. But after carding five birdies and a single bogey in round three, he now has two trophies in his sights as he looks to end a stellar 2025 campaign in style. He said: "(Winning) would be an amazing way to end the season." McIlroy and Neergaard-Petersen have a world-class chasing pack waiting to strike, with Ryder Cup stars Tommy Fleetwood, Hatton, Rasmus Højgaard and Matt Fitzpatrick among the group one shot back on 12 under alongside Laurie Canter and Angel Ayora.

Keita Nakajima had to play his second shot at the first hole from the bark after sending his tee-shot right. He opted to play a hook and reaped the rewards as he sent it to a few inches to set up a tap-in birdie.

Noren walks it in

Just as we began to question whether Alex Noren's 28-foot birdie putt at the 14th had enough speed to reach the hole, he started walking. The ball then trickled into the cup for a brilliant four.

Fitzpatrick's excellent eagle

Ryder Cup star Fitzpatrick took dead aim at the fifth, landing his approach within a foot of the hole and watching on as it bounced twice and dived into the cup for a hole-out eagle. What a shot...

McIlroy snaps root in two and finds the green

McIlroy's ball sat just behind a tree root after his tee-shot on the tenth had gone right. But he showed incredible strength to find the green with his second shot, snapping the root in two in the process.
