Trip of a lifetime - Scottish couple enjoy an experience to remember at Genesis Championship

Sometimes you strike it lucky.

When Nico Echavarría made a hole-in-one during the final round at the Genesis Scottish Open in July, one person was left celebrating more than most.

As part of an on-site activation at the Rolex Series event earlier this year, a VIP experience for two at the Genesis Championship in Korea was on offer for the fan who correctly predicted the first player to card an ace at the par-three sixth 'Stadium Hole' at the Renaissance Club.

Donald and Katie MacLeod were the fortunate recipients of the prize, which included business class return flights and accommodation.

Recalling the day when they were fans at the Genesis Scottish Open, Donald said: "I turned to Kate and said 'I'm sure I picked him [Echavarría] for that competition.

"[But] I didn't think anything else about it.

"Then about three weeks later we got an email saying, 'Congratulations, you are invited to South Korea to attend the Genesis Championship' which took us a good few times to read it before it sunk in."

Travelling from Glasgow to Seoul, the couple enjoyed two unforgettable days of Genesis hospitality.

From being inside the ropes with hometown favourite Si Woo Kim to meeting Adam Scott, one of their golfing heroes, they experienced a series of VIP moments that highlighted Genesis' commitment to excellence both on and off the course.

"There is hospitality and then there is being treated like royalty," said Donald.

"It's been the experience of a lifetime, from start to finish. All expectations have been surpassed... it's provided memories that we will keep forever."
