The Dutch Futures: Three to Watch

The Road to Mallorca returns to the Netherlands this week with The Dutch Futures taking place at The Dutch, Spijk. Here are three players to keep an eye on…

Form horse: David Law

David Law

Scotsman David Law is the HotelPlanner Tour’s form player after he sealed a second win of the season at the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge supported by Finnish Golf Union. A birdie on the par five 18th secured a two-stroke victory for Law, a month after he won the D+D REAL Czech Challenge at Royal Beroun Golf Club. Now at the summit of the season-long Road to Mallorca Rankings, the 34-year-old looks destined to return to the DP World Tour at the first attempt after he lost his card last year.

With eight top ten finishes in 2025 and four in his last four starts on the HotelPlanner Tour, the Scot has been one of the most consistent performers on the Road to Mallorca and could earn automatic promotion to Golf’s Global Tour with a third win this week.

Local boy: Lars van Meijel

Lars van Meijel

Lars van Meijel will be eyeing a strong showing on home soil when he tees it up at The Dutch. Currently 37th on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, the 31-year-old requires a strong end to the season to cement his position inside the top 40 before the Rolex Grand Final supported by The R&A.

Van Meijel arrives at his home HotelPlanner Tour event in promising form, however, having finished in a tie for 17th at the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge, where he ended the week on ten under par. What’s more, the Dutchman hasn’t missed a cut since May’s Blot Play9 and with a string of impressive performances since, Van Meijel could be one to watch in Spijk.

Outsider: Alfie Plant

Alfie Plant

Alfie Plant will tee it up at The Dutch fresh off a season-best finish in Finland, where he ended the week in a tie for second, and will know another impressive outing could see him jump inside the top 40 on the Rankings with just a handful of events to play. The Englishman posted four rounds in the 60s at Cooke Course and was firmly in contention before three back nine bogeys on Sunday halted his progress.

Despite the late drop off in Finland, the 33-year-old knows how to win on the HotelPlanner Tour, having tasted victory at the 2022 Blot Open de Bretagne and 2021 Hopps Open de Provence. With winning pedigree on his resume and seemingly hitting form at the right time, Plant could threaten the leaders once more this week.
