The Italian secured his first victory for nearly five years at the UAE Challenge after firing a faultless seven under par final round of 65 in Ajman to reach 22 under par for the week and win by two strokes from South African JC Ritchie.

The two-time DP World Tour winner went on to triumph at the Abu Dhabi Challenge just seven days later to complete a spectacular couple of weeks in the Middle East and put himself into a strong position to regain his playing privileges on golf’s Global Tour.

Paratore now occupies second place on the Road to Mallorca Rankings with 664.8 points, 77.6 points behind fellow two-time winner Daniel van Tonder who remains in pole position.

19-year-old Joshua Berry sits in third position on 588.1 points after a terrific start to the campaign which has included a maiden victory at the Kolkata Challenge followed by a runner up finish at the Delhi Challenge. Fellow Englishman Jamie Rutherford is 131 points behind in fourth after he secured a first victory at the Cell C Cape Town Open in association with Honor at the start of the year, while South African Wilco Nienaber completes the top five.
