The Frenchman, who sits third in the Rankings, is one of three players to amass over 1000 points this year but sits 369 points back of Ritchie, who secured a third win of the season and with it, automatic promotion to the DP World Tour promotion at last month’s Italian Challenge Open.

Guillamoundeguy is eager to take advantage of this week’s event at Sanya Luhuitou Golf Club, with the first of back-to-back stops in China boasting increased prize money and Road to Mallorca Ranking points.

“I’ve been playing well this season, but it’s not finished yet and I would love to finish the year at the top of the Rankings,” he said.

“We are here in China, and I will be giving it everything.”

The Frenchman has enjoyed a breakout season on the HotelPlanner Tour, which has included seven top ten finishes and a maiden victory, coming at the Irish Challenge at Killeen Castle.

Guillamoundeguy’s last taste of competitive golf came on home soil at the FedEx Open de France on the DP World Tour three weeks ago, and the 20-year-old feels prepared to contend once more on the Road to Mallorca.

“I’ve had ten days off at home which was really nice,” he added.

“I’ve been working hard on my game, and we did a pretty good job. I’m feeling fresh and ready now. I love the competition, and I want to do my best here, so let’s see how the season finishes.”

Guillamoundeguy first visited China 12 months ago and finished in a tie for 21st at the 2024 edition of the Hainan Open, while posting a four-round total of 10 under par, making 18 birdies in the process.

“I love the courses here in China and next week is a really good venue in Hangzhou, so I am looking forward to playing here,” he said.

“Every course suits you if you play well but I would say it’s a good course for me. There are certain holes, where if you hit it far, you have an advantage.

“My goal is to play well the next two weeks and keep being myself. I won’t change anything, see how I finish and hopefully that results in another win.”

Guillamoundeguy is part of a strong field in Sanya which also contains 48 players from the China Tour, including current Order of Merit Number One Yanhan Zhou.

The first round of the Hainan Open gets under way at 7:05am with Guillamoundeguy teeing off alongside Zhou and Ritchie at 12:15pm.
