Entries now open for The 2025 Senior Open

Entries are now open for The 2025 Senior Open, giving exempt and non-exempt players the opportunity to compete in Europe’s only Senior Major, which will take place at Sunningdale from July 25-28.

Sunningdale

The famed Berkshire venue will host The Senior Open for the fourth time in its history, having previously hosted the Championship in 2009, 2015 and 2021.

Those without an exemption can now enter one of four Qualifying Events which will be held at Bearwood Lakes, Burhill, Camberley Heath and Sandy Lodge on Monday July 21.

David Williams, Tournament Director of The Senior Open, said: “There is always great excitement when we open the entry process for The Senior Open, and we are looking forward to seeing a field including the world’s best over-50s golfers compete at Sunningdale later this year.

“Our thanks go to Sunningdale as the host of the Championship and to the four qualifying venues, Bearwood Lakes, Burhill, Camberley Heath and Sandy Lodge. There has always been great interest in our Monday qualifying events with approximately 500 players taking part each year, and each venue offers a test worthy of a place in Europe’s only Senior Major.”

Entrants must be 50 years old on or before Thursday July 24 and shall be male professional golfers with a current Tour affiliation or PGA Membership or male amateur golfers with an exact handicap index of 0.4 (scratch) or lower under the World Handicap System or scheme adopted by the recognised golf authority in their country.

Full eligibility criteria can be found here and the entry deadline is 12pm on Thursday July 3.
