Nearing its climax, Phase One of the 2025 DP World Tour schedule resumes this week in Scotland for the continuation of the Closing Swing.

After a two-week hiatus in both the last of the five Global Swings and the Race to Dubai, the action picks up with the Nexo Championship at Trump International Golf Links.

The $2.75million tournament, which previously featured as part of the Race to Dubai in 2020, is the penultimate event in the Closing Swing.

It is followed by the Danish Golf Championship, which will visit the capital of Copenhagen for the first time, when the tournament is staged at Furesø Golf Club.

Through the opening three counting events, Ryan Gerard leads the Closing Swing rankings, but the American will not play in either Scotland or Denmark.

Of those teeing it up this week, Marco Penge leads the way with his 433.50 points earned at the Genesis Scottish Open and his hand is strengthened by the fact that only five other players in the top 15 on the Rankings are likely to have the chance to earn any further points.

Nicolai Højgaard is the closest challenger to play again on 231.00 points but a good week for Penge here could put him out of reach before Højgaard tees it up on home soil at the Danish Golf Championship next week.

Todd Clements on 219.00 points will need a top three at the Nexo Championship to have any chance as he is not currently set to tee it up in Denmark.

The player who wins the Swing will earn entry into all events on the Back 9 and a US$200,000 bonus.

A winner at the Soudal Open, shooting a course record 62 in the final round, the Norwegian is an excellent player and exciting watch. He also played well at the Genesis Scottish Open and then finished 30th at The Open.

The man is a fine player, hits the ball miles. He won the HotelPlanner Tour's Road to Mallorca Rankings two years ago to get onto the DP World Tour so has already proven he can last the pace. He got his first win at the Hainan Classic in China so he has got that monkey off his back and has nothing to lose. An excellent performer, he is someone we are going to see a lot of over the years.

Playing it safe somewhat here, but with so few players playing the final two events of the Swing, and American Ryan Gerard not teeing it up in either, it would require something special from the chasing pack on the Rankings. After a short but welcome break since missing the cut at The Open you sense the Englishman is likely going to be in the mood to hit the heights he showed when he was last in Scotland for the Genesis Scottish Open. A big result could even see him climb to second on the Race to Dubai Rankings, highlighting just how strong a campaign he is enjoying.
