Everything you need to know from round one at Augusta National.
Justin Rose led from the front, Bernhard Langer rolled back the years and the patrons had plenty to cheer.
Here is everything you need to know from the opening round at Augusta National.
Rose surpasses Jack Nicklaus' record
Rose carded a seven-under-par 65 to ensure he ended the first round in the lead for the fifth time in his career, breaking the record he had shared with six-time champion Jack Nicklaus since also shooting 65 in 2021. “Typically day one they set the course up quite difficult so I went out there trying to be patient and just got off to a flyer,” said Rose, who birdied the first three holes, made another hat-trick of gains from the eighth and also birdied the 15th and 16th.“From that moment I felt I was definitely on the front foot. The ball was going exactly where I was looking and began to feel there was a good round in me. Just 18 I guess came unstuck but for the most part it was a great day.”
Åberg going well in Georgia once more
Ludvig Åberg finished second in last year's Masters and made an impressive start as he looks to go one better. Four birdies in his last seven holes gave the Swede a 68. "I felt like we played a very disciplined round of golf today," the Swede said. "When you execute the shots, it makes it a whole lot easier, obviously, but I felt like we managed sort of the shots where we were in between clubs in the right way and didn't try to force anything, laid up on a couple of par fives where I could have probably gone for it if I was aggressive."

Langer rolls back the years
Bernhard Langer is playing in The Masters for the last time but the two-time winner showed some of the skills that brought him two Green Jackets in an opening 74. "The atmosphere was fantastic," the German said. "I got lots of standing ovations all over the place, starting on number one and many other holes. People seem to really appreciate that I've been here for 40-odd years and what I've achieved, not just here, but in my golf career. The patrons appreciate that, and it was nice to see."

Rai delighted with debut showing
Aaron Rai said it was “beyond expectations” after he kicked off his Masters debut with a two-under-par 70. “Really good start overall,” said the two-time DP World Tour winner. “Without playing this course under competitive conditions before, it's very difficult to figure out how the course is going to play in the flow of it. Definitely beyond expectations. Played really nicely. Holed a couple of nice putts for birdie and a couple of nice putts to keep the round going early on."
Patrons out in force
There was plenty for the crowds to enjoy in Georgia.
