Kipp Popert extends perfect G4D Tour record at Wentworth

Kipp Popert produced a dominant display to win the G4D Tour @ BMW PGA Championship for a fourth consecutive year at Wentworth Club.

The Englishman, the world’s top-ranked golfer with a disability, held a seven-shot overnight lead after an opening seven-under-par 66 and backed it up with a 71 on Tuesday to complete a resounding eight-shot victory at nine under.

Popert, who has cerebral palsy, has now won 15 G4D Tour titles as both an individual and team member after arriving in Surrey on the back of victory at the Amgen Irish Open last week.

After missing the first half of the season following foot surgery, Popert's form in the past two weeks has further underlined his dominance on the G4D Tour since its inception in 2022.

"It was a really slow start to the year with the operation," said Popert.

"People who have been out for whatever reason understand what it is like to come back and you just appreciate everything a lot more.

"It was my 12th operation so I have had practice with that.

"I am just loving being able to do what I love again. I am clearly playing well, so I am very pleased."

Lachlan Wood was the other player in the ten-strong mixed field to break par across the two-day event after he closed out with a 72 – featuring an eagle and three birdies – to finish second on one under.

After an 80 in the first round, Juan Postigo Arce bounced back with a 72 of his own on Tuesday to finish solo third at six over.

Issa Nlareb, who contracted bacterial meningitis which led to him losing both legs and all but two of the fingers on his right hand while competing on the Alps Tour in 2018, finished sixth at ten over after rounds of 78 on both days.

The G4D Tour season continues next week at the FedEx Open de France, with some of the leading players from the Net world rankings taking part Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche.

As a winner on the G4D Tour in the 2025 campaign, Popert is guaranteed to feature at the season-ending G4D Tour @ Rolex Grand Final takes place in Mallorca next month.
