G4D Tour has influenced so many in its brief history, with its power to inspire a wider community in evidence at the BMW PGA Championship.
Austin Hunter played a variety of sports as a youngster, before suffering sepsis at 12 which saw him hospitalised for more than six months.
It led to the amputation of both his legs, but that has not stopped him from staying active with golf remaining one of his passions.
In G4D Tour player Issa Nlareb, who also lost both his legs after suffering sepsis following bacterial meningitis, Hunter has a figure to whom he can relate.
During a visit to Wentworth Club on Tuesday – arranged through an invite extended by Kipp Popert – for the final round of the two-day G4D Tour @ BMW PGA Championship, Hunter met Nlareb and the other G4D Tour players.
Reflecting on the experience, Hunter said: “It’s good because I am part of their world now. It’s hopefully where I can get to.
“It was just nice to meet them [the players], very cool.”
