Tyrrell Hatton is looking forward to Sunday's final round after his spotless 64 on Moving Day put him in a strong position to fight for a second BMW PGA Championship title.
The home favourite fired eight birdies in a stunning display on Saturday, with seven of them coming over the final ten holes.
The Ryder Cup star sits two shots behind overnight co-leaders Alex Noren and Adrien Saddier with 18 holes remaining and has a brilliant opportunity to add to the crown he won here in 2020.
Hatton, who would become the first player to win six Rolex Series titles with victory on day four, said: "I'm excited for tomorrow.
"I'll go out there tomorrow and give it my best, and hopefully it will be a good day."
The 33-year-old had to be patient at the start of his third round, parring the opening five holes before getting his first birdie of the day on the sixth.
The floodgates soon opened as he reeled off four in a row from the ninth before finishing with a hat-trick of birdies to reach 13 under par.
Reflection on his round, Hatton said: "It was a good day's work. Got off to a little bit of a slow start.
"But yeah, the last ten holes was great. Gave myself plenty of opportunities, and it's always nice to see putts going in."
Viktor Hovland sits another shot behind Hatton after his roller-coaster 71.
The Norwegian led for much of the afternoon after making birdies at three of the first four holes but back-to-back bogeys on the eighth and ninth dropped him into a share of the lead.
He bounced back with a birdie on the short tenth before running up a double bogey on the par-five 12th after an errant tee-shot.
That saw him fall from the summit but he avoided further damage over the remaining holes and managed to birdie the last to sit just three shots off the lead.
Hovland is a big fan of this event and is keen to get his hands on the trophy.
He said: "This is a tournament I look forward to every single year.
"It's my fifth time playing, and it's just a great atmosphere. The crowds are awesome.
"It's a great golf course, obviously a lot of history here, and I'd like to put my name on that trophy.
"This is a super exciting course, and you can't take anything for granted. I need to go out there and play as well as I can and see what happens."
