Nacho Elvira is backing his brother Manuel to join him in the DP World Tour winner's circle as the pair head into the weekend at the BMW PGA Championship in title contention.
With the sibling duo from Spain separated by nine years in age, the Elviras come into the prestigious event at different stages in their careers.
Earlier this season, Nacho, 39, won his third DP World Tour title at the Dubai Invitational and is this week making his 48th Rolex Series appearance.
By contrast, 30-year-old Manuel only made his BMW PGA Championship debut last year and is competing in his third campaign on golf's global Tour after graduating from the HotelPlanner Tour in 2023.
However, there is little to separate them on the leaderboard as Manuel posted a 66 to follow an opening 69 to get to nine under, one shot ahead of Nacho after his rounds of 67 and 69.
"I see him going out in good form, I'm glad for him," said Nacho.
"I know he was nervous. I told him he's playing great and doing all the right things, so just a matter of time."
After mixing three birdies with two bogeys on his front nine, Manuel produced a flawless back nine that featured five birdies.
"I played pretty much the same as yesterday but I was able to be more precise with my wedges," he said.
"I hit a lot of balls close and I didn't really have to make a lot of long putts."
Victory for Manuel would see the Elviras become the sixth pair of brothers to each earn a victory on the DP World Tour and the second this season after Alex Fitzpatrick joined older sibling Matt earlier this year.
