Any hole-in-one is to be celebrated, but for Frederic Lacroix he couldn't really have timed his first on the DP World Tour any better.
Playing in the fourth group on Sunday at the BMW PGA Championship, the Frenchman holed his tee shot at the uphill par three 14th - measuring 163 yards for the final round - with a seven iron to secure the keys to a brand-new car.
In a new initiative for this week's Rolex Series event, players were offered the chance to pick their preferred choice of BMW car from ten models and Lacroix won the iX5 xDrive 60 M Sport, a new release for 2026.
Lacroix, a DP World Tour winner at the Danish Golf Championship in 2024, signed for a closing five-under-par 67 after making six birdies - including three in a row after his hole-in-one - and three bogeys to finish his week at seven under.
"A good moment," he said. "We were a bit between two clubs, between seven and eight.
"It's an awkward little hole because you can't really feel the wind down there.
"So yeah, I just made a decision. We were close to it hitting the eight, but in the end I got the seven and hit a lovely shot.
"I mean, a hole-in-one is always special, but yeah, this feels a little bit extra.
"It's just a good bonus to finish the round and finish the week.
"Like I said, it's always a special moment, doesn't happen often, and yeah, you just have to enjoy it."
It is the second hole-in-one of the week and the second in as many days after Adrian Meronk holed his tee shot at the fifth from 206 yards with a five iron in the third round for his first ace on the DP World Tour.
