Race to Dubai Rankings leader Rory McIlroy will play alongside nearest challenger Marco Penge when the season-ending DP World Tour Championship gets under way on Thursday.

McIlroy goes into the week with a 767-point lead over Penge in second place on the standings as he bids to win the Harry Vardon Trophy for a seventh time.

The reigning Masters Champion is looking to make it four in a row after coming out on top in each of the last three season-long races, but with 2,000 points awarded to the winner of the final Rolex Series event of the season at Jumeirah Golf Estates, it is still all to play for.

The Northern Irishman and England's Penge will start their opening rounds at 12.40 local time.

The other player apart from Penge who could still overtake McIlroy at the top is Tyrrell Hatton, who partners Kristoffer Reitan at 12.30.

Starting ten minutes earlier are Scotland's Robert MacIntyre and Frenchman Adrien Saddier, while MacIntyre's Ryder Cup team-mates Shane Lowry and Ludvig Åberg will be first out at 08.15.
