Rory McIlroy landed a milestone 20th DP World Tour title as he became a two-time winner of the Amgen Irish Open, switching to TaylorMade MG5 wedges.
The Northern Irishman, a long-standing TaylorMade staffer, switched to the manufacturer's newest Milled Grind 5 wedges at 46, 50, 54 and 61 degrees as he claimed his fourth worldwide win this year at The K Club.
With new wedges in hand, McIlroy finished ninth in Strokes Gained: Around the Green, gaining 0.95 strokes on the field, sitting over 70% in scrambling and making five of six sand saves.
Earlier in the year, ahead of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at Pebble Beach, McIlroy added one degree to his highest lofted club, with a view to making hitting 40-70 yards shots easier.
At the same time, he also switched from the 2024 TaylorMade TP5x to the softer-feeling TP5 due to how it reacted around the greens, with the ball leading to a lower launch but the same spin rates.
At the top of his bag, he switched back to the TaylorMade Qi10 driver earlier in the year to regain greater consistency after initially using the Qi35.
Here is the equipment used by Rory McIlroy for his win at the Amgen Irish Open.
