What's in the bag: Matt Fitzpatrick's winning set-up at the FedEx Open de France

Matt Fitzpatrick returned to the driver that brought him success earlier this year as he claimed his latest piece of silverware at the FedEx Open de France.

The Englishman won PGA Tour titles at the Valspar Championship, RBC Heritage and Zurich Classic of New Orleans across March and April, using a Titleist GT3.

Known as one of the most analytical players, and in his search for continued improvements, he later changed to a Ping G430 LST ahead of appearances at the Genesis Scottish Open and The Open.

But, ahead of Continental Europe's oldest national open, he reverted to using the Titleist GT3 driver at Le Golf National as he completed a three-shot victory on Sunday.

"I've been doing a little bit more work on the driver," said Fitzpatrick after a second-round 64 saw him claim the halfway lead.

"So went back to the old setup with my driver I started the year with and took a few issues in the middle of the year that were sort of off-putting a little bit, I guess.

"I just feel a bit more comfortable with that, for one, and then just being able to sort of play my normal game with the rest [of his bag]."

Depending on course setup and conditions, Fitzpatrick switches between using a three or four iron. At the BMW PGA Championship, he had the four iron in his bag but that was replaced with a Ping i210 three iron in France.

An equipment-free agent, the 2022 U.S. Open winner also plays with a TaylorMade Qi35 three wood and five wood, a full set of Titleist Vokey wedges and a Bettinardi prototype putter.

Fitzpatrick topped the standings for scrambling, scoring par or better on 22 of the 24 occasions that he missed the green in regulation, while he was fourth for Strokes Gained: Putting across the week as he picked up 1.91 shots on the field.

He uses a 2019 edition of the Titleist Pro V1 X ball, designed for faster ball speeds.
