Sidal Svendsen eyes home success in Bogense

Victor Sidal Svendsen is hoping to continue his fine form when he tees it up on home soil in the Danish Golf Challenge at Bogense Golf Club this week.

The Dane arrives in Bogense having registered back-to-back top five finishes in his last two outings which have seen him climb to eighth in the season-long Road to Mallorca Rankings.

The 26-year-old, who fired a six under par round of 65 on the final day of the Challenge de España to finish second last time out, returns to familiar surroundings this week looking to capitalise on his impressive form as he searches for a maiden HotelPlanner Tour win.

“It was nice to get off to a good start in India and it’s just been better and better since then, which is really pleasing,” he said. “I am really excited for the next stretch.

“My goal was to get to the Rolex Grand Final in Mallorca at the end of the year, but now it’s hard not to think about the top 20 as well.

“I’ll just try to do my best and see where it takes me but I’m definitely looking more towards the top 20 now.”

Sidal Svendsen earned a debut season on the HotelPlanner Tour after winning three times on the Nordic Golf League in 2024.

The Dane is anticipating a tough test at Bogense, with strong winds and thick rough set to test the field on a course that makes its debut as HotelPlanner Tour venue.

“The weather could be better but it’s always nice to be back in Denmark,” he added. It’s going to be a tough week. With the forecast, it’s going to play tricky and with tight fairways and high rough, it’s going to be interesting.

“Hopefully I drive it well. “You can hit driver on every hole because it’s so tight that even an iron off the tee isn’t going to be the play. I will try and stay patient and try to avoid the high scores.”

Sidal Svendsen is part of a strong field in Bogense, that includes Road to Mallorca Number Two Renato Paratore and Challenge de España winner Clement Charmasson.

The first round gets underway tomorrow at 07:30am local time, with Sidal Svendsen teeing off alongside Charmasson and Austrian Maximilian Steinlechner at 1:40pm.
