Shane Lowry is hoping to be "dangerous" over the weekend after playing his way into a strong position in the opening two rounds of the 2025 DP World India Championship.
First-round leader Lowry backed up his opening 64 with a 69 on Friday morning to sit one shot adrift of early clubhouse leader and playing partner Tommy Fleetwood after 36 holes.
The Irishman, who heads into the weekend on 11 under par, has his sights set on making further progress at Delhi Golf Club - a course he feels suits his game.
He said: "I think you need to play this golf course the way you see it. There's a lot of holes where you're not hitting much off the tee and you're trying to get it in play and that's why I think it suits me.
"There's a lot of mid-irons out there which is a strength of my game. Play to my strengths this week and hopefully I can be dangerous this weekend.
"I got off to a bit of a slow-ish start. Not much happened on the front nine, and then I made a stupid bogey on the par five from the middle of the fairway. Quite frustrated around the turn but I felt like I finished well, and I played some nice golf on the way in.
"Yeah, the course is there for the taking if you hit good shots, but if you hit it off-line it's very, very tricky. I'm happy with my two days' work."
Lowry's fellow Open Champion Brian Harman also sits at 11 under, and he said the course reminds him of the final Major Championship of the year.
"It's a pretty tough course to learn, really," he said. "I mean, there's some really awkward tee-shots. It's a little different than what we're used to but I've enjoyed the course.
"I've heard it called a second-shot golf course but the tee-shots are tough. I feel like it's a lot. It's a little bit like an Open. You have to fit some shots into some places, it's just kind of awkward.
"I'm striking it pretty well. Hit some irons in there pretty close. Saved par when I had to. When I hit it in the trees, I didn't make any big scores."
