After 18 events of the 29-event schedule, five Scotsmen currently reside inside the top 40 on the Road to Mallorca Rankings and are on track to tee it up in November’s Rolex Grand Final supported by The R&A.
The first of those is David Law, who returned to the winner’s circle for the first time in six years with an impressive two-stroke victory at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge. The DP World Tour winner’s triumph at Royal Beroun Golf Club wasn’t a one off, however.
Law has registered six top ten finishes in 2025 and sits fifth on the Road to Mallorca Rankings. Having already tasted victory at the Scottish Challenge, coming in 2018, a second win on home soil could see Law become the first Scot to top the season-long Rankings since Marc Warren in 2005.
Daniel Young is another Scot looking to maintain his impressive recent form on home soil this week. Young arrives at Roxburghe fresh off competing at The 153rd Open and has pieced together strong performances on the HotelPlanner Tour of late. Currently 14th in the Rankings, the 33-year-old enjoyed back-to-back events in France, finishing solo third at the Blot Play9 and second at the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge. With two impressive finishes coupled with Major Championship experience all coming within the last six weeks, Young is one to watch as he eyes a maiden HotelPlanner Tour victory on the Scottish Borders.
Young’s compatriot Euan Walker is also enjoying a positive 2025 season and sits 25th on the Road to Mallorca Rankings with ten events to play before the Rolex Grand Final. The two-time HotelPlanner Tour winner has been a hallmark of consistency this year, having only missed two cuts thus far. What’s more, Walker has posted five top 30 finishes in his last eight events, including a tied for third at the Challenge de España where he finished two shots back of winner Clement Charmasson.
Walker has narrowly missed out on promotion to the DP World Tour in each of the last two years and will know a positive performance at SCHLOSS Roxburghe would boost his chances of earning promotion to Golf’s Global Tour for the first time.
Former Tartan Pro Tour golfer Calum Fyfe is another Scot crafting out an impressive year on the HotelPlanner Tour. The 28-year-old kick-started his season with a second- place finish at the Danish Golf Challenge, having been the frontrunner for most of the week at Bogense Golf Club. Since then, Fyfe has placed in a tie for 15th at the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge and inside the top 25 at the Blot Play9.
Currently 30th in the Rankings, a strong performance this week will see the Scot cement his position inside the top 40 as he eyes promotion to the DP World Tour.
Ryan Lumsden is the final Scottish player occupying a position inside the top 40 of the Road to Mallorca Rankings, and the 28-year-old arrives at his home event in promising form. After finishing in a tie for 12th at the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge, Lumsden produce his best outing of 2025 at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge, where a missed birdie putt on the 72nd hole left him two strokes behind his countryman Law.
Lumsden looks destined to post his highest ever finish on the Road to Mallorca this year and could start dreaming of promotion to Golf’s Global Tour should he record a strong finish in front of home support this week.
