Player profiles - Who is competing at the G4D Tour Series Finale @ Rolex Grand Final?

The G4D Tour visits Mallorca this week as a ten-strong field contest a revamped season-ending tournament.

Held in parallel with the season climax on the HotelPlanner Tour, the G4D Tour Series Finale @ Rolex Grand Final supported by The R&A brings together the best disability golfers from around the world.

With two separate competitions – each over 54 holes – from Thursday to Saturday, the 2024-25 campaign is set for an exciting climax at Club de Golf Alcanada in Mallorca.

The field, comprising six players in the Gross competition and four in the Net event, sees eight countries represented.

The winners of the individual G4D Tour events – including the male and female outright winners at The G4D Open – are joined by five players who have earned their spots via their world ranking.

Ahead of the G4D Tour season finale getting under way, here's a look at the ten inspiring players set to tee it up.

Kipp Popert

Age: 27

Disability: Neurological

Country of birth: England

World Ranking (gross): 1

Born with cerebral palsy, Popert is a high-profile advocate for the inclusive power of golf. Despite the physical challenges he has faced growing up and overcoming multiple surgeries, he has reached the summit of the game, thriving on the international stage. Missed the majority of the first half of the year after foot surgery, but he arrives in prime form after winning on his last two starts on the G4D Tour to take his remarkable title haul to 13. A defending champion, having won in Dubai 12 months ago, he is the strong favourite.

Brendan Lawlor

Age: 28

Disability: Short stature

Country of birth: Ireland

World Ranking: 4

One of the most recognised golfers with a disability worldwide, Lawlor was born with a rare condition called Ellis-van Creveld syndrome, characterised by a shorter stature and shorter limbs. Played superbly to win The G4D Open in 2025 for a second time, before finishing second on home soil at the G4D Tour Amgen Irish Open.

Mike Browne

Age: 47

Disability: Amputation Above Knee

Country of birth: England

World Ranking: 7

A former soldier, the Englishman had his left leg amputated from the knee down following an infection that arose after a training accident. Subsequent to then, he started playing golf aged 36 in 2014 before he turned professional in 2016. He is a three-time G4D Tour winner so far, most recently stateside in THE CJ Cup Byron Nelson - organised in conjunction with the PGA TOUR - last year.

Lachlan Wood

Age: 34

Disability: Musculoskeletal

Country of birth: Australia

World Ranking: 3

When aged 16, Wood was seriously injured in a car accident, resulting in his left leg being held together by 14 screws and a metal plate, while he has so far faced more than 40 surgeries. He won the G4D Tour Australian All Abilities Championship on home soil in 2023. Viewed as a genuine title contender in Spain after runner-up spots this season in The G4D Open and G4D Tour @ BMW PGA Championship.

Issa Nlareb

Age: 35

Disability: Multiple amputee

Country of birth: Cameroon

World Ranking: 6

Discovered a golf course fleeing the police while homeless and started a business finding balls, working his way up to being a caddie and eventually a professional. Contracted bacterial meningitis and then sepsis while competing on the Alps Tour in Egypt in 2018, leading to a double leg amputation and several fingers. Despite all that, he has still found meaning through the game and is an inspiration to many. Returned to compete on the G4D Tour after a two-year absence at Wentworth Club in September.

Daphne van Houten

Age: 27

Disability: Musculoskeletal

Country of birth: The Netherlands

World Ranking: 40

A routine physical screening at just 12 years old found a life-changing issue in Van Houten’s back. Diagnosed with scoliosis, she became the first woman to break into the top ten of the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability in mid-2019. A two-time winner of The G4D Open, successfully defending her title in the women's event earlier this year. A serial winner on the EDGA Tour, she has been a regular competitor on the G4D Tour since its inception in 2022. Her golfing hero is compatriot Anne van Dam, who plays on the Ladies European Tour and LPGA.

Kelly Masson

Age: 47

Disability: Amputation Above Knee

Country of birth: Canada

World Ranking: 1

The Canadian, who has qualified via his status as the World Number One in the Net Ranking, is the only player in the field to be making their G4D Tour debut this week. A right leg above-knee amputee, he won the Canadian All Abilities Championship earlier this year.

Marjan Gavez

Age: 55

Disability: Amputation Above Knee

Country of birth: Slovenia

World Ranking: 11

A respected player on the EDGA Tour, the above-knee leg amputee topped the Net World Rankings earlier this season, through which he earned his spot at this week's season finale. Tied third-place finishes on the G4D Tour in England and France underline his competitive quality.

World Ranking: 10

After battling cancer and post-traumatic stress disorder, golf means the world to the former Iraq war veteran, whose landmark win in the G4D Tour FedEx Open de France in September earned his ticket to Spain.

Daniel Slabbert

Age: 34

Disability: Amputation Above Knee

Country of birth: South Africa

World Ranking: 87

After losing his left leg in an accident in his teens, Daniel focused on golf and is now a professional coach. A regular winner in South Africa, he attended the EDGA Player Development Camp in 2024 before winning on his G4D Tour debut at the Betfred British Masters.

What is the format of the event?

Gross and Net Competition will be played in the same format:

A 54-hole stroke play tournament with 18 holes played on Thursday, 30th October – Saturday, 1st November. Five x two-ball groups.

Thursday 30th – Draw by world ranking position

Friday 31st & Saturday 1st – reverse score order

Net and Gross players will only be paired with competitors participating in the same format

If first place is tied after 54 holes, a play-off will be played on the first hole and repeated until the winner is determined
