Tyrrell Hatton may have plenty to play for in the individual competition at this week's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship but victory with his dad in the team contest would mean just as much.
Father Jeff has been Hatton's coach throughout his career and the duo finished second in the team event in 2024 – the same season that Tyrrell took solo honours for the third time.
The Englishman won his first two DP World Tour titles at the celebration of links golf played over the Old Course St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns in 2016 and 2017 and another victory this week would put him in some elite company.
Bernhard Langer holds the record for the most wins in a DP World Tour event outside of the Majors and World Golf Championships with five at the German Open, one ahead of himself at the German Masters, Charl Schwartzel at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, Seve Ballesteros at the Open de France, Miguel Ángel Jiménez at the Hong Kong Open, Mark McNulty at the German Open, Rory McIlroy at the Dubai Desert Classic and Sir Nick Faldo at the PGA Championship.
And while Hatton would love to join that famous cohort one win behind Langer, he would also love to emulate Matt Fitzpatrick, who won the team event alongside mum Sue in 2023.
"In 2024 when I won the individual week, we finished second in the team," he said. "I think we were leading the team going into the final round. So it would be nice to achieve that.
"Playing with my dad is just so different and a unique experience this week. Either way, he finds it very special too.
"He'll be excited but probably more nervous. Hopefully the nerves don't get the better of him this year.
"2024 was actually the first time that my dad had been at the DP World Tour for a win and the fact that he was playing that day too made it very special. A day that neither of us will forget.
"Being able to play with my dad, that's really special, and I think you can see that some of the other players try and play with their parents. There's not another week like this. It's a great week."
Hatton has spoken in the past of how he enjoys the more relaxed nature of this week, with the professionals playing alongside not only family members but celebrities and figures from the business community.
The event certainly sets the Auld Grey Toon abuzz but Hatton admits that after becoming a father earlier this year, this season's edition will feel a little different.
"This tournament has been very good to me over the last ten years," he said. "As I've said in the past, just the relaxed nature of this week helps me out a little bit. And yeah, last year had some good fun and looking forward to it.
"We all know that I can get pretty frustrated on golf course. So, yeah, the fact that it's a little more chilled out serves me well.
"Might be a slightly different week this week this time around because I have my wife and daughter here. In previous years, I might have snuck out for a beer or two and now it's changed to nappies."
