The Englishman capitalised on Rasmus Højgaard's mid-round collapse as the Dane surrendered a four-shot lead from the sixth hole.

Penge engineered a two-shot lead going down the last, only for Højgaard to drain an eagle putt to draw level at 15 under before the the 27-year-old nervelessly holed his birdie effort to clinch victory at Furesø Golf Klub.

As a result, the World Number 97 topped the Closing Swing Rankings, overhauling last week's Nexo Championship winner Grant Forrest.

A share of second at the Genesis Scottish Open set him on his way and despite missing the cut at The 153rd Open Championship, he climbed the standings with a top 30 finish at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire last time out.

That meant Penge only needed a top four finish to take top spot in the standings, which has now earned him entry into all Back 9 events in addition to $200,000 in prize money.

He also picked up another $10,000 after breaking the course record in Denmark courtesy of sponsor Nexo.

The premier digital assets wealth platform have offered the reward, which will roll over at each event if a new mark has not been set, until the the end of the 2025 campaign before resetting next season.

Penge, who sits second in the Race to Dubai Rankings, signed for a 64 during the opening day of the tournament after carding an eagle and five birdies to take the prize money.

Højgaard and Englishman Ben Schmidt also carded seven-under rounds, but missed out due to recording their scores on Friday and Saturday respectively.
