Marco Penge took advantage of Rasmus Højgaard's dramatic collapse to secure his second DP World Tour title at the Danish Golf Championship.
The Englishman has enjoyed a breakout 2025 campaign and he has not looked back since winning his maiden crown at the Hainan Classic in April.
However, even Penge would have been surprised at how he secured victory at Furesø Golf Klub, having been four shots behind the home favourite through six holes.
They were level at the turn following a dropped shot at the seventh and double bogey at the ninth from the Dane before Penge hit the front, only to drop his first shot of the day at the 16th hole to leave the door ajar for his 24-year-old rival.
A stunning approach into the 17th restored the World Number 97's two-stroke lead, which was wiped out by Højgaard's clutch eagle at the last.
Penge kept his cool to birdie from three feet to triumph with a 16 under par total and also top the Closing Swing Rankings.
"I've been playing so well this year," Penge said. "You know, coming back from my time off, to have won so soon (after that) and to achieve what I've achieved since I won.
"My main goal after I won was to not get complacent and drop off basically. My team have been a massive support for me, my family, everyone involved really.
"It's made me keep striving for more and this is amazing. And Rasmus, he's some player, to hit the shot he hit into the last and make eagle and basically make me have to win it was unbelievable.
"We were both pushing as hard as we could and I was the winner at the end of the day, but I've loved every minute of playing two round of golf with him."
Højgaard began the final round with a one-shot lead over Penge at 13 under, but a brilliant early burst of scoring saw the Dane cruise ahead.
He hit a stunning approach to close range at the third to set up eagle, holed a 20 foot putt at the next for birdie and when he added another at the sixth, the 24-year-old led by four at 17 under.
Penge was biding his time with a birdie at the third and he cut the gap to two shots when Højgaard bogeyed the eighth and he picked up a shot at the same hole.
The pair reached the turn in a share of the lead after the home favourite could not get up and down from the bunker, missing the short putt for bogey to slip back to 14 under.
The Englishman was then handed the outright lead when Højgaard overshot his lengthy putt at the tenth and could not save par from eight feet.
It was to get better for Penge when rolled in a brilliant 37 foot birdie putt at the 13th to open up a two-shot advantage over his playing partner.

Højgaard responded with his first birdie of the back nine at the 14th to halve the deficit, only to give that shot back at the next after three-putting from 23 feet.
Penge left the door open with his first bogey at the 16th, but re-established his two-shot lead with a remarkable approach to two feet at the penultimate hole to return to 15 under.
The Dane piled on the pressure by eagling the last to draw level, but the Englishman kept his cool to drain his birdie putt from three feet and win for the second time this season.
England's Ben Schmidt parred the last to earn solo third at 12 under following a final-round 68, with Sweden's Mikael Lindberg and Italian Gregorio De Leo one shot further back in a share of fourth.
Australian Elvis Smylie and Norway's Kristoffer Reitan were at nine under, with Finnish pair Oliver Lindell and Sami Välimäki wrapped up the top ten alongside Norway's Mats Ege and American Johannes Veerman.
