In the latest episode of the Life on Tour presented by Buffalo Trace podcast, James Morrison shares his journey from junior cricketer to professional golfer, competing on the biggest stages and how he continues to harbour dreams of winning again.
After playing on the same England youth teams as future Test cricket captain Alastair Cook, Morrison went from an 18 handicap to scratch in just 10 months after picking up golf as a 16-year-old.
In double-quick time, he was on a golf scholarship at the University of South Carolina, and by the age of 21 he had turned professional.
Despite an uncommon route into the game, Morrison has since made 436 appearances on the DP World Tour.
Highlighted by two victories on Golf's Global Tour, the Englishman has competed in seven Major Championships in his near 20-year professional career to date.
Sitting down with host George Harper Jr., he reflects on how the Tour has evolved over the years - both on and off the course - and opens up about the realities of life on the road, including fan heckling.
Having turned 40 earlier this year and without full playing rights on the DP World Tour for the first time since graduating from the HotelPlanner Tour in 2009, he remains optimistic about the future as he sets his sights on returning to the winner's circle.
