Latest DP World Tour winner confirmed for inaugural Hainan Classic

Eugenio Chacarra is the latest rising star to confirm his participation in the inaugural Hainan Classic, set to take place at Mission Hills Haikou from April 24-27.

The 26-year-old recently won his maiden DP World Tour title at last month’s Hero Indian Open and will look to build on his breakout victory in the upcoming double header in China, with the Volvo China Open preceding the Hainan Classic as the Asian Swing comes to a close.

The Spaniard will be joined in Hainan by Kiwi Dan Hillier, the 2023 Betfred British Masters winner. Currently ranked fifth in the Race to Dubai, Hillier’s consistent form, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic, positions him well to capitalise on his momentum in China.

Among the distinguished field is Zihao Jin, a 25-year-old Beijing native and 2024 China Tour money list champion, who has secured Category 17 status for the 2025 DP World Tour season.

“I’m honoured to participate in this inaugural event,” Jin commented. “Navigating new courses and conditions has been a valuable journey of self-improvement. My strong finish at the Magical Kenya Open has provided me with essential experience.”

The Chinese secured his first top ten finish at the Magical Kenya Open presented by absa —where he rediscovered the nuances of kikuyu grass from his early days— which bolstered his confidence. With the advantage of playing at home, he intends to adopt a measured and strategic approach at Hainan, focusing on methodical preparation and patience rather than succumbing to pressure.

The Hainan Golf Classic will take place from April 24 - 27 at Mission Hills Haikou’s Blackstone Course, where the stars of the DP World Tour will compete for a prize fund of $2.55m in an event set against the stunning backdrop of tropical Hainan.
