Jeong weon Ko hails home crowd after fine finish at FedEx Open de France

Jeong weon Ko hailed his home crowd after they roared him to a closing 65 at the 2025 FedEx Open de France.

The 27-year-old Frenchman set the early clubhouse target at 15 under par after firing his second eagle of the day from 23 feet at the 16th but finished one shot adrift of champion Michael Kim following the American's late heroics.

Ko received vocal backing from the bumper crowds at Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche all day and was quick to pay tribute to them after finishing in a tie for second.

He said: "I think the crowd have been amazing. They have put me back into where I was feeling comfortable and they have been a huge part of this performance.

"The plan this weekend was to play with the crowd and enjoy the moment. Whenever I felt pressure, I think just having that positive energy and feeding from that was really important for me.

"When I was not doing that and I was trying to focus on my own thing, I think I was like more on the result and kind of getting more pressure on myself.

"Those fist pumps and those roars were really feeding me and, yeah, it was a nice moment. Very nice."

Ko went into the week with work to do to secure his playing rights for next season but now sits inside the top 60 on the Race to Dubai Rankings.

He added: "This is my best result in three years. So I can really boost my confidence up from this."
