Home favourite Dhruv Sheoran described playing in the same field as Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood as a "dream come true" after making a strong start to the 2025 DP World India Championship.
Some of the world's top players are at Delhi Golf Club for this week's event, with Ryder Cup stars McIlroy, Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland and Shane Lowry among the star-studded line-up.
And Indian Sheoran proved he can compete with the very best on Thursday as he fired an opening 68 that contained an eagle, four birdies and two bogeys to reach four under par.
He said sharing a course with World Number Two McIlroy and reigning FedExCup Champion Fleetwood in particular was a highlight.
Sheoran said: "It's something I have dreamt a lot of times, watching Rory, Tommy on TV and thinking one day that I want to be playing next to them.
"It's a dream come true in a way. I couldn't sleep at night thinking that I'm going to be playing alongside them, so it's really surreal to be playing here."
Speaking about his round, Sheoran added: "Early on I was pretty nervous, but after the first tee-shot, again, sticking to the process. After each shot I was telling myself 'stay in the moment', that kind of helped me get through the round."
