Players at this week's Nexo Championship will compete for a guaranteed $10,000, following the launch of a new course record award on the DP World Tour.
In a new initiative announced on Wednesday, Nexo, the premier digital assets wealth platform, will pay out $10,000 to the first player who sets a course record that continues to stand at the close of the competition.
With the DP World Tour making its first visit to Trump International Golf Links, and no course record in place over the planned routing, there is a guaranteed winner.
The Course Record Award Presented by Nexo will be season long, culminating at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
In addition and for this week only, alongside the $10,000 cash prize there will be an additional $50,000 award in NEXO Tokens.
Here, we run you through the key things to know.
• It is available for any professional player competing in a sanctioned DP World Tour tournament from the designated championship tees, excluding multi-course events, pre-tournament Pro-Am competitions, standalone one-day tournaments, Major Championships, the Olympics, mixed events, and PGA TOUR events that are not co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour such as the ISCO Championship and Barracuda Championship
• The prize money will be awarded to the first player that sets the new course record which stands at the close of the competition. Any player that equals a course record during the week will not be awarded any prize money. In the event of the course record being posted by two players in the same group or the exact same tee time from opposite tees on a two-tee start the award is shared equally
• Once a course record is achieved at the conclusion of a tournament and the rollover sum is awarded, the prize money resets to $10,000 for the following counting tournament
• If the award is not won during a counting tournament, prize money will rollover to the next counting tournament that meets the eligibility criteria with the addition of $10,000
• Any tournament that is curtailed and is played over less than 36 holes will also not be an eligible tournament for this award, but the award will rollover to the next tournament
• Any round that has preferred lies in action is not eligible
