Alexander Björk has announced he is bringing an end to his career in professional golf at 35.
The Swede, who turned professional in 2009, will play one final event on the DP World Tour in 2026.
Björk made the announcement on social media on Friday, a week on from missing the cut at the Omega European Masters in Switzerland in his 178th start on the DP World Tour.
A graduate of the HotelPlanner Tour in 2016, after initially plying his trade on the Nordic Golf League, his sole DP World Tour title came at the Volvo China Open in 2018, the same year he reached a career-high 59th on the Official World Golf Ranking.
Björk finished 11th on the Race to Dubai Rankings in 2023, earning dual membership with the PGA TOUR for 2024. Since losing his card stateside, he has played solely on the DP World Tour but has played just three events in 2025.
Across nine appearances in Major Championships, his best finish came in the 2024 US PGA Championship with a tie for 39th.
In his statement announcing the news, he said: “I have now chosen to step back and end my professional career. I want to spend more time with my family, and I feel truly motivated to start a new chapter in my life.
“I leave with joy, pride, and gratitude. I have always given everything. I regret nothing, and I have been fortunate to experience wonderful encounters, memories, friendships, and lessons which I will always carry with me.
“I want to express my deepest thanks to everyone who has been part of the journey and supported my career in any way – family, friends, sponsors, coaches, federations, clubs, fans, and many more!”
