Shane Lowry is in pole position to give the home crowds what they want on Sunday after moving further clear on day three of the 2026 Amgen Irish Open.

Here is everything you need to know from Moving Day at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel, Ireland, Doonbeg.

Home hero Lowry extends his lead

Lowry started the day three strokes ahead but was caught at the top by playing partner Jacob Skov Olesen as they reached the turn. But, roared on by bumper crowds, the Irish Ryder Cup star caught fire on the back nine, combining birdie putts with a series of clutch par saves to go four clear at the summit and reach 16 under par with a 65 that contained six birdies and a single bogey. Can he now go on and win his home event for the second time, having memorably tasted victory as an amateur in 2009?

Beat the Pro delivers again

Not many amateur golfers can claim to have outdone six-time Major Champion Rory McIlroy. But Patrick Flynn can after his Beat the Pro exploits on Saturday. He produced this sensational tee-shot before walking down to the green with McIlroy and soaking up the applause from the crowds.

Højgaard's birdie blitz

Former champion Rasmus Højgaard made a fast start to the third round, reeling off a hat-trick of birdies from the second hole. Perhaps the pick of the bunch was this approach shot into the fourth, with a healthy amount of spin setting up a three-footer.

Olesen oh so close

Olesen was forced to get creative at the par-three seventh after finding the hay with his tee-shot. And he went agonisingly close to getting his reward as his chip hit the hole but somehow stayed above ground.

No putter required for McKibbin

Tom McKibbin missed a rare green at the 13th but it mattered little as he holed his pitch shot from the fairway for a brilliant birdie.
