Thriston Lawrence rose to the top of the leaderboard while a home favourite impressed his adoring crowds on day three of the 2025 Omega European Masters.

Lawrence storms to the summit

South African Lawrence put on a show on Saturday, kicking off his third round with a 30-foot birdie at the tricky first hole. He bogeyed the next but drained another monster putt for birdie on the fifth before birdieing each of the next four holes to make it five in a row and open up a commanding lead at the summit. He was 17 under par with six holes of his third round to complete on Sunday morning, two shots clear of his nearest challengers Sami Välimäki and Matt Fitzpatrick.

Home hero wows the crowds

Joel Girrbach found himself in a tough spot beneath the third green but somehow managed to chip in for a brilliant birdie. And the Swiss star received a huge roar from his fans.

Välimäki's birdie blitz

Välimäki made a huge move in round three, reeling off six successive birdies from the fourth hole, and another three in a row from the 13th to storm into contention. He managed to finish 15 holes before darkness brought play to a halt on Saturday and is definitely one to watch on Sunday.

Beat the Pro

A fresh group of talented youngsters got their chance to beat the professionals at the eighth hole on Saturday. And Antoine Medinger grasped that opportunity with a stunning tee-shot, finding the green and earning a handshake from Angel Ayora.

Fitzpatrick's excellent eagle

Fitzpatrick went for the green on the par-four seventh and was rewarded as his ball landed 13 feet from the hole to set up an eagle.
