Smith shines with his wedges

Jordan Smith joined Richard Sterne, who would bogey his opening hole to slip back, at the summit thanks to this brilliant approach at the fifth to reach five under.

The Englishman then produced this stunning bunker shot at the 13th to save par and remain at six under, one behind overnight leader Grant Forrest.

Penge's fights back with birdie blitz

Marco Penge has enjoyed a brilliant 2025 DP World Tour campaign, sitting fourth in the Race to Dubai Rankings. The Englishman was at three over following his opening round, only to begin Friday with a triple bogey eight at the tenth - his first - to slip first back and battling to play over the weekend. However, nine birdies, including five in his last six holes and two dropped shots saw him card a stunning 68 and climb into the red numbers.

Lucky 13... for a few

The par three 13th was the hardest hole of the second round, playing +0.42 over its score and it showed as only six players carded birdies at the 216-yard hole. Well done Nathan Kimsey, Gunner Wiebe, Rory Franssen, Elvis Smylie, Viktor Nordwall and Joost Luiten. Here is the latter's superb tee shot to set up his two.

Aberdeenshire wind bites hard

The wind certainly made things more difficult during Friday's second round on the Aberdeenshire coastline, which Spaniard Angel Ayora found out about on the opening hole.
