Everything you need to know from the opening round at Trump International Golf Links.
Sterne sets new course record in Aberdeenshire
The South African, who has six victories on the DP World Tour, has not been been in the winner's circle since 2013, but he put his recent struggles behind him with a flawless 67 to set a new course record in Aberdeenshire. Starting at the tenth, he bookended his front nine - the tenth and 18th - with birdies before added another at the par five first. A brilliant tee shot at the third saw him share the lead alongside Norwegian Andreas Halvorsen and South African Thomas Aiken, and took the outright lead at five under with a gain at the seventh. The 43-year-old is in pole position to earn $10,000 through a new initiative on the DP World Tour in a partnership with title sponsor Nexo for the course record at Trump International Golf Links, which was previously set at 68. "Yeah, very happy," Sterne said. "The course is very tricky even though the wind is not as bad as it was in the practice round on Tuesday and I played well. I hit the ball a lot better than have done for a while, so that was quite key. I drove it well off the tees as well so that helped. It's tricky out there, some tough holes, you've got to hit some good shots. One day at a time and I am happy with today, so it is a good start for me."
Jacob Skov Olesen-sational
The Dane endured a tricky start, sitting four over through four holes, until he holed out for eagle at the fifth to kick-start his round.
Olesen then produced this brilliant up and down from the thick rough to garner another birdie at the seventh.

The 26-year-old battled back to finish the opening day with a one over 73, six shots behind the leader, courtesy of this birdie at the 16th. He used all of the cup for that one!
Penge's peculiar par
They say there are no pictures on a scorecard, but how did Marco Penge walk away with a par at the 12th?!

Sullivan steals one at the sixth
A wry smile for Andy Sullivan after he drained a putt for birdie at the sixth, which in truth could have run a long way past the pin.
