Everything you need to know from the opening round at Furesø Golf Klub.
Marco Penge sets new course record, Nicolai Højgaard finds a couple of big birds and Francesco Molinari produces vintage Molinari at the last.
Perfect Penge leads the way with new course record
Marco Penge continue his brilliant recent form by setting a new course record in Denmark. The Englishman has finished in the top 30 in six of his last seven starts and currently sits fifth in the Race to Dubai Rankings. That momentum carried into Copenhagen as he carded a flawless seven-under 64 - an eagle and five birdies - to lead by two shots from the congested chasing pack. "It’s a really good test of golf, especially the back nine," Penge said. "You can’t afford to hit it off line. Luckily I didn’t miss a shot for the whole round. You don’t have many days like that. I’m going to end up in some trouble at some point this week, I’m glad I got through 18 holes without being in that trouble, so we’ll see how we go over the next three days."
Rasmus rocks and rolls in Copenhagen
Rasmus Højgaard was flying on home soil. He finished his front nine in style with this birdie to climb up to four under.
He then salvaged bogey at the next, which he will have been disappointed with, but a chip-in is always satisfying. The 24-year-old finished with eight birdies, a double bogey and that dropped shot, to sit in a share of second at five under behind leader Penge.
Nicolai twinning with eagles
Nicolai Højgaard is an identical twin with Rasmus, but he also produced two similar shots for eagle during his first round at Furesø Golf Klub. The Dane first holed out at the 12th to get him back to level par and he achieved the feat once again two holes later with one hop before finding the cup. As the saying goes: The first time was so nice, he had to do it twice.
Olesen gets home crowd cheering
There is nothing better for a home favourite than hearing the cheers from the spectators. Thorbjørn Olesen did just that with this chip-in at the the last to finish the day in the red numbers.

Francesco finishes with a flourish
Major Championship Francesco Molinari carded his lowest round of the year following an opening 66 in Copenhagen. The Italian was three under heading down the par-five last when he produced vintage Molinari with a superb chip-in for an eagle to climb into a share of second.
